linked stores everything locally on your device. We collect no personal data, have no servers, and share nothing with anyone. Your links are yours, full stop.
1. Overview
linked ("the app") is a private, offline-first link vault application for Android, developed by Satheesh Mankulam. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.
By using linked, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
linked does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Account credentials — no account is required
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behaviour tracking
- Crash reports or diagnostic data
3. Data Stored on Your Device
All data you create inside linked — links, collections, tags, settings, and your PIN — is stored exclusively in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself.
There are no linked servers. No cloud sync. No backup that we control. Your data is entirely under your control.
4. Third-Party Services
When you save a link, the app may request URL metadata (page title, description, favicon, preview image) from Microlink API (microlink.io). This is a one-way outbound request that sends only the URL you are saving. No personal data is attached to this request.
- The URL you save is temporarily processed by Microlink to fetch metadata
- No user identity, device ID, or account information is sent
- Microlink's own privacy policy governs their data practices: microlink.io/privacy
No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are integrated in the app.
5. Data Export & Import
linked allows you to export your data as a JSON file and import it again. This export is performed entirely on your device and saved to your chosen location. We have no visibility into or access to your exported files.
6. Children's Privacy
linked does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not target children and requires no registration of any kind.
7. Security
Because linked stores all data locally and transmits nothing to external servers, the security of your data is primarily determined by the security of your device. The app offers an optional PIN lock feature to protect access.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
